I’ve just recorded another session for the lovely people at Simple Folk Radio - will air next Sunday and hopefully be able to download for everyone else soon after. I played 12 songs, think there’s 9 in the session - some new things there too. This here is the last one I did, actually my second, 3 years ago - free to download.

It’s been a while since I uploaded any music, and I found this earlier whilst going through ideas for the next record. This is a little song that I put on the ‘Good and Gone’ album and I think this is the second version I recorded. In the end I went with the earlier one that was actually recorded in my kitchen on my phone one morning - this one wasn’t released.

Free download of a charge through ‘Make A Dead One Of It’ from my sold-out (!) concert in Zürich last week. Played this one for Laura (here on Tumblr) who had asked for it a few days before but I had not the brain for all the words. Bah.
I’m back home for a few weeks with a brief chance to catch up on recordings I’ve been making whilst in Switzerland. I taped a few shows I played, but also spent a lovely afternoon recording with a violinist friend Sophia. We did a few songs together for fun and I’ll make them available in some form - you can expect to be able to grab some things very soon.
I’m also putting together the next release for Woodland Recordings which will be a beautiful EP from Allysen Callery. We’ll go on tour together in October - here are the details for that.

‘Suit of Stones’ recorded live in Tuchlaube Café Bar, Aarau, CH 04/09/12 with Sophia Basler on the violin.
We played some songs together for the first time last week at my concert in Aarau - was a lot of fun and I think we’ll play again this Thursday in Zürich here.

Tomorrow I’ll ride up to Paderborn for a concert at Sputnik - details here. Never visited the town before, have no idea. Then the next day a short hop to Oberhausen for a house show, and then right across to Dresden for a concert at Veränderbar - details for that one are here. Happy to be travelling back to Dresden indeed, but perhaps happier still to have a little time right afterwards to stay at home and perhaps even write some songs and begin the next thing. Let’s see.

This was the last show of six concerts in Italy last week. My voice was hoarse from singing in the warm evenings and I had the Beastie Boys on my mind. I don’t often ad-lib with hip-hop lines coming to me in sudden flashes but I blame it on the heat. I really enjoyed this show, will perhaps post more from it in the next few days if I have time.
